What time the Centers hours of operation?
HoneyTree is open Monday – Friday from 6:15 am – 6:30 pm. Our Smith Mountain Lake location opens at 6:00 am.
Are meals included in tuition?
HoneyTree children are served nutritious meals daily following USDA guidelines. Tuition includes a daily breakfast, lunch, and afternoon snack. Most schools also serve supper in the evening.
What security measures and features do you have in place?
We use a keypad entry system, computer check in and out system and Tadpoles program to ensure the safety of our children.
What are the student to teacher ratios?
Infants (6 wks. – 16 mos.) – 1:4
Toddlers (16 mos. – 2 yrs.) – 1:5
Twos (2-3 yrs.) – 1:8
Preschool (3-4 yrs.) – 1:10
Pre-K (4-5 yrs.) 1:10
Afterschool (school age) – 1:18

What is a typical day like for my child?
Below is a sample Daily Schedule (Toddler – Preschool)
6:15 am – Arrival/Free Choice Play
8:30 am – Breakfast/Personal Hygiene & Care Routines
9:00 am – Arrival/Morning Circle Time
9:20 am – Curriculum/Center Time
10:30 – Playground/Gross Motor Play
11:30 am – Personal Hygiene/Lunch
12:30 pm – Rest Time
2:30 pm – Afternoon Snack/Personal Hygiene
3:15 pm – Curriculum/Center Time
4:30 pm – Playground/Gross Motor Play
5:20 pm – Personal Hygiene/PM Snack
5:45 pm – Personal Choice/Prepare for Dismissal
What information is needed upon enrollment?
For each child enrolled the following forms are required: registration form, information sheet, birth certificate, Virginia Physical Examination and Immunization Certificate and enrollment agreement. A complete packet of enrollment forms will be provided at the Center your child will be attending prior to your start date.
How often is tuition due?
Weekly tuition payments are billed to your account, in advance, each Thursday.
Will teachers work with my child on toilet training?
Yes! Potty training requires consistency and patience. We regularly take the child into the bathroom to use the toilet. We praise the child for whatever they do and we continually chart their progress.
Do you close during inclement weather?
We strive to open each center at their scheduled time in the event of inclement weather. However, if we need to adjust our schedule, we will send out a notification using our Tadpoles communication system.
